Staatspreis Design 2022 is a competition that awards prizes to the most creative and innovative design solutions. Every two years, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs honors outstanding three-dimensional design from Austria. Products and projects whose development or implementation took place after 1 January 2020 can be submitted. For the first time, Staatspreis Design 2022 will introduce three new categories, which are consumer goods, capital goods, product design for interior. Currently, Staatspreis Design 2022 is calling for applications, the deadline is 15 February 2022.

designaustria has a longstanding close relations with GDIO. It is a knowledge center and interest organization, as well as Austria’s national representative body for professional designers, aiming to raise awareness for products and services designed in Austria.
